Our current plan is still for a release shortly after a Recommended Build of bukkit 1.5.2.bidoof_kinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17412700149140961418noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3311836080852143418.post-5120534862930172112013-04-12T21:41:00.000-07:002013-04-12T21:41:21.593-07:00An Update.Alrighty, since it's been so long since the last update here. So I'll make this quick.

Our Server
We have a Minecraft server running 1.5.1

It's at bidoofia.no-ip.org

Map Download

Alright, so we're very close to the download. The current plan is to launch shortly after the Release Build of Bukkit 1.5.1 launches. We'll post the specifics when that comes.

Johto?
We'll be starting shortly after we launch the current map.
Since we get whined at when we don’t tell you all what we’re doing, here is how things currently stand:

Kanto is broadly “usable”. All its portals work, all its interiors are
present, everything is as it should be. However we still need to make
provisions for food in Pokémarts, since the idea is to play the maps in
survival (with mobs off, we might add). Actually, this applies to all
the maps.

The Sevii Isle sare currently being worked on. One Island is mostly
finished, and all islands now have Pokémon Centres and marts. The
Seagallop Ferry now exists, so you can travel to and from them without
having to swim. Much.

Hoenn is pretty much finished, with the same provisos as Kanto. We
still need to portal in Seafloor Cavern, as well as the personal caves
of Rayquaza and Groudon.

The World now features travel to and from Hoenn. The train station in
the hub will now take you to Kanto, Sinnoh and Hoenn, though we cannot
guarantee that your journey will be 100% on the rails due to lag. Expect
terror-inducing flights and strange lag bugs. Nice trip though. We’re
also working on usability, since people quite often don’t know where to
go or what to do.

Testing is imminent. Though we’ve been saying that for the last few
weeks, so it’s pretty meaningless. We’ve been doing some limited closed
beta testing, but you never know, one of these days we may publish the
IP, then BAM, involuntary server DDoS.
They told us we were mad for trying it. But we did it.

That's complete bull, I did it. I portalled all of Kanto. By myself. I also added the interiors for Celadon, Vermilion and Fuchsia, and redid Saffron's.

As a result, Kanto is pretty much in a usable state, however we aren't releasing until Hoenn is at the same standard. Tomorrow we're hopefully going to be performing some very preliminary beta testing (more stress-testing the server to see what it can handle than actually evaluating the maps). Please don't ask to join in, this is a private affair - there will be a beta soon, as I said in my previous post.

We've been doing some more planning on the beta over the past few days, as well as designing the feedback form which we'll be asking you all to fill out once you've got through the map

Work will continue on Hoenn as soon as I regain the energy I spent today. The future is looking promising!Cieranhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02036089315875660354noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3311836080852143418.post-27444619453064375082012-12-17T18:22:00.004-08:002012-12-17T18:22:38.400-08:002010 Cieran was not very smartIn 2010, we realised that we didn't have half the interiors in Kanto. Yes, this has been an issue we haven't spoken about for quite some time. We just assumed something would happen, but none of us bothered to do anything about it. As a result we just sort of let it be. I tried to get some emulated copies of Fire Red to work (before anyone accuses us of dirty piracy, we have recreated all of Kanto, Hoenn and Sinnoh in Minecraft - of course we've bought the games and played them to death) but it just didn't seem to go.

I don't know what I was doing wrong because I got one working within fifteen minutes of bidoof_king remarking that I should give it another try. As a result, our last major obstacle is overcome - now we just need to build the damn things.

As a result of this (and also because today, December 18th, is our third birthday - yeah, we've been at it for a while now), we're pleased to announce that we will soon be undertaking closed beta testing in order to prepare for release. Keep following us here for announcements and invitations - we're anticipating a pretty high uptake, and our server probably can't handle several thousand people at once (our server can at times barely handle three of us - it's not a very good server, and bidoof_king's Internet connection is less than stellar.).

It's unlikely that you'll see the map in 2012, but an early-2013 release would not be unreasonable. There's some pretty big hurdles to overcome in portalling (Seafloor Cavern in Hoenn, for example), but I believe that we can do this.

So keep watching us, and you too could be exploring Kanto before everyone else!Cieranhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02036089315875660354noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3311836080852143418.post-6800653550594340842012-12-16T14:41:00.002-08:002012-12-16T14:41:33.798-08:00The State of the Pokécraft NationSo 1.4 has now been out for almost two months, and a lot of people are asking us where the map is. We never promised to release AT 1.4, only that it wouldn't be done until after 1.4 is.

Some people tell us "why not just release it now and then issue updates?". These people do not realise quite how unfinished the maps as they currently exist are. Until two weeks ago, for example, you could get about as far as Viridian Forest in Kanto before your progress would be stopped by a door. It's since been portalled, but our point is that a lot of the map is simply not traversable in its current state. Refer to the previous post for information on how updates will be issued - they will be, but we need to get to a semi-usable state first. Kanto needs interiors (Vermilion, Fuchsia, Celadon and a host of route-buildings simply don't have any interiors at all). This might not bother you, but it bothers us, a lot.

As it currently exists, what we have of the Kanto interiors are portalled, we just need to build the rest. The issue is that there aren't any maps for them. Crazy as it may sound, in eight years no-one has mapped large amounts of Kanto. But please understand that we're not slacking, we've just moved onto Hoenn, with the result that Hoenn is probably about 40% portalled already from work in the last two weeks.

We don't want to release an incomplete project, is the crux of the matter. It will be done when it's done, and complaining to us about delays or lack of updates will not speed up the matter. We are working hard already, we don't need to you goad us.

Regarding updates, we (should) be releasing Episode 2 of Wandering in the next few days, pending Rils' edits, showing off a lot more of Kanto, but also some of the holes.

For anyone wondering, the most recent thing completed was Silph Co. Those of you who know Silph Co may be aware that it has a total of 34 portals, as well as an elevator and stairs for each floor. It took me three hours to do, and please remember this - the building was already finished. The stuff was all there, it just needed updating. That's what we're up against here, a map built for software made in 2009 being ported to software in 2012. Go back and play Minecraft Classic. Spend two years building massive, massive structures using only the limited 50 or so blocks in that version. Then try and update them to 1.4.

Then you may complain to us about our speed. But until then, we're working as hard as we can to get this project done.Cieranhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02036089315875660354noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3311836080852143418.post-80853790482541198102012-11-16T15:44:00.000-08:002012-11-16T15:44:41.200-08:00Command Blocks and release informationWe're inching ever closer to a release! With the 1.4 update to Minecraft came command blocks, a key development in the creation of the Pokécraft project, which allow us to portal all of our interiors (as well as do a bunch of other cool stuff). All we really need to do now is actually link interiors and exteriors.

After some initial teething troubles, we have the blocks up and working, as well as links to each of our three main regions set up from the phoneboxes in the spawn town. As of the time of writing, we're going through and sorting out Kanto's interiors, with Pallet, Viridian and Pewter linked up and working. The discussion of interiors however brings up a note about our inevitable releases.

Release System
The first release of the map will come soon, however it will also be fairly basic. We plan to release it in several versions (the release being version 1, and then using standard software versioning practices for subsequent updates).

The version of the map which we release as v1.0 will feature the following:

Kanto + interiors

Hoenn + interiors

Sinnoh + very limited interiors (caves and some early-game houses)

The Sevii Islands + very limited interiors (as Sinnoh)

An interconnected world of all the regions - they're all in a pastiche of Japan, in roughly the position they might be in the real world - Hoenn is rotated through ninety degrees for example

Many easter eggs! This map contains the fruits of over three years of Minecraft labour by a group of ten people, and we've transplanted some of our best works into the world for you to enjoy. Honestly we reckon there's several hours of play-time just exploring the non-regioned parts of the map - to walk from the Northern tip of Sinnoh to Ever Grande City takes about 30 minutes at sprinting pace alone!

The first release after this will likely focus on one of two things, the first being general beautification. Since 99% of the maps were built in Creative Classic, they sort of show it - only 50 available blocks sort of limited us a bit. The other is getting interiors into Sinnoh - this is a pretty big update, and will be the last before Johto.

Because yes, we will be doing Johto since I know the Pokémon community seems to adore the region, despite its lack of any notable features at all aside Ecruteak and Goldenrod City (no, caves and lakes don't count - get me a desert or a rainforest!). Johto will likely see version 2.0 of the map, as it will also necessitate a recreation of Kanto to bring it in line with modern standards and to make it fit into the Gen IV reworking of the land. Again, this will likely be released first without interiors, then with, but this remains to be seen - it's the first region we've built since leaving Classic, and only the second where we've actually had interiors in mind (Hoenn and Kanto were both built on vanilla Classic serverware, while Sinnoh used iCraft and later Archives). This will then be followed (probably in about 2036 at our current rate of building) by Unova. Since at this stage the map will have been split into two different types (Gen 3 and Gen 4 Kanto), building the subtly different BW and B2W2 renditions of Unova aren't much of a challenge.

Server Maps
We'll be releasing two versions of V1 of the map, one for Bukkit servers and one for single-player/LAN play. The SP one will get the most attention as it's future-proof, and can't be influenced too heavily by Mojang's mod API - we don't want to rely on a plugin only for it to be removed by the cessation of the Bukkit project. As it is we've been keeping mods to a minimum, the only "required" mod at present is WorldGuard by sk89q, which we use to prevent grass spreading.

If you want to see the project become completely plugin-neutral, please email/tweet/reddit Mojang and ask them to include the option to turn off grass spread please. Otherwise we'll be forced to always rely on third-party mods, and we don't want that!

"BK! Where's the download?!" "hows does I get server"

First off as of right now, we're planning on a download. Which won't happen until at least after 1.4 hits. There are a few quirks, concerns, and issues we have to work out before any sort of public release can occur.

"Isn't Cycling Road supposed to be a bridge?! Why so flat? How can the SS Anne get out?!1!"
Canonically, yes. It is a bridge. In game? Nope. It's flat as flat can be. Only the game physics make it seem like a hill.

To make it make more sense, we added in a drawbridge to it. But that doesn't even fix the biggest issues. How's the Ship supposed to get around the water routes that are completely surrounded by rocks?

"What are those roads near Kanto?"
The one on the left, near the E4 is a Railway leading from the central hub city. It takes you right into the Player's house in Kanto

The one on the right, it leads up to Sinnoh.

"Who's all involved with the project?"
As of today. Our current staff is:
Bidoof_King (me)
Rils
CDRom/Cieran
Mudson
Inevitable
VeryRedGir
Drazil Austin

"How long has this project been ongoing"
We started Kanto in Early/Mid December of 2009 and we've sorta working on all of this since then!

The current version however, PokéWorld, was put together in July of 2012.

"Updates plox!!!1!"
Yeah, any updates will most likely show up here first.

"Will this be public and when?"
We've considered getting a dedicated host and having the proper version of the map on a server. But due to the costs of such an endeavor we have decided against it for now. The future may change.

"Yo! Where's Johto?"
Johto huh? We've been attempting to get it fully mapped out using the game world. Due to the changing camera angles and a few other issues. It's made it difficult for us. Don't fear! We'll get it done eventually, with a new Kanto to match!

"Unova?"
We've done some premliminary tests on mapping it (by mapping it, I mean building a single comprehensive image of each area in the NDS game). It too suffers from odd camera angles and other oddities that will make it challenging to translate into Minecraft. We'll eventually figure something out and get it done too.

"what about region _____"
Currently, we have no plans to build regions outside of the main series of games. We're not opposed to it though.

"I want to join your staff!"
We have no official word on that at this time.
It's been quite a while since we had any updates, and Boy do we have news for you!

First off. Stop reading this and go check out my last post.

Checked it out right? Awesome isn't it? Yeah, so that's Kanto in version 1.3.2. We've secretly been working on it over the past few months getting it ported over to the newer versions. Going from Classic .30 to Release 1.3.2 is quite a jump! So many new block types and options for building. Some areas were completely overhauled and rebuilt from their original version.
Cieran/CDRom posted that image on Reddit yesterday, and it managed to hit #2 on /r/all! We were all very excited about it.
The Year of Johto and The World? (Maybe)Greetings! It's been way too long since any of us have posted anything.

The current news. Kanto(and Sevii), Hoenn, and now Sinnoh are all done. There might a little bit of minor interior work and a few things that need to be updated/fixed. As a staff, we're calling these Done!

In the meantime, we've been trying to plan the logistics of Johto. A quick spoiler? It's going to be challenging, but will turn out great.

The other bit of news I have to share is the project I mentioned a few posts back about a "large beta project". I am still working on it, albeit slowly. Once I get to a good enough point, I'll post some screen shots.

Also. I've been seeing quite a few comments saying basically "how does I join server". Lemme tell you. It is quite simple.

There are 2 ways of doing this.

The easiest way is to surf on over to Minecraft.net and click on "Minecraft Classic Multiplayer" and scroll through the list for "Bidoof_King's Pokecraft".

The better, but slightly more difficult method is to download the World Of Minecraft client. Which is a standalone client that includes flying. Download that and again, scroll through the list and find "Bidoof_King's Pokecraft"

If you can't figure out how to do this, then there's no way I can help you!

And yeah, the project has been moving really slowly recently, but progress IS being made in Sinnorth. Maybe one day we'll do Johto...Cieranhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02036089315875660354noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3311836080852143418.post-87079485948274318432011-04-06T17:39:00.000-07:002011-04-06T17:39:35.590-07:00An update! (Finally...)Hey everybody! It's been quite a while since any of us have posted here. So I'm here to bring some news about the server, the project and other goingons.

Well first up, the Main part of Sinnoh has reached the completion point that all is left for a little bit of Mt. Coronet. So as of last night, the northern section of Sinnoh has gone live! Sinnoh is looking good, Very good. It's all coming together quite well.

Next up, I've got more good news. We are beginning to do the first phases of the Johto mapping. Which it too is coming along quite nicely. Last I checked, it was ~90% mapped, and to the staff members with in a month or so I'll get a test version of the map live to double check sizes and making sure it all flows correctly.

Last up, I've been personally working on a HUGE project in Beta. I'm not quite ready to announce any details, but let me assure you. It is going to be amazing. I've already spent close to two weeks on it and I'm not even near 50% done. But soon I'll be at a point where I'll release a Sneak Peek version.

Kanto + Sevii Islands (FR/LG) Done!
Hoenn (R/S/E) Done!
Sinnoh (D/P/Pt) 63%!
Johto (HG/SS) Phase 1, game ripping 90%!
We're lazy, we know. The server hasn't been that active either. For us I mean.

Anyway, this is just a general news and updates post saying about goings on on Bidoof_King's Playhouse.

In Pokécraft News, Sinnoh is coming along nicely, almost all non-terrain features are now present. All that's left really is the mammoth task of Mt Coronet, as well as the smaller one (to be undertaken by BK) of carving out the seabeds. Problem is though, Coronet is a REAL bitch. It's really wide, and really long, and mountains are horrible, as it is we're just nipping at the edges. For a sneak peak at Sinnoh, why not try sinnohtrees? It's a slightly older version of Sinnoh. And no, we won't answer any questions about it. It's unfinished. Get over it.

Also, we now offer fast travel around Hoenn and Kanto. Simply press the red block on the front of any Pokémon Centre to be taken to a miniature map of the world, from which you can choose any destination in the world! Note that this doesn't work leaving Sootopolis, however entering it is fine.

In non-Pokécraft news, we've made a couple of small changes to the hub world of the server. Upon spawn, you're now faced with a row of command blocks, providing quick access to the Pokécraft worlds, as well as the credits for the project and information on joining us. Furthermore, the freebuild train station has been enlarged, and now features an archive room of past freebuilds for your perusal. A new freebuild will likely be coming online soon as well, featuring a slightly more dramatic set-piece than the current one's gentle hills...
Cieranhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02036089315875660354noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3311836080852143418.post-58827744913687284552010-12-23T15:10:00.000-08:002010-12-23T15:49:03.209-08:00Introducing: The TichOhi,

I'm Tich, and I'm one of the admins working on the Pokécraft project. Lets head to Hoenn today shall we. Much farther south than Kanto, the Hoenn region is semi-tropical, and the whole region is much larger than Kanto and is more varied in its terrain. From volcanoes, to the desert, rainforests, to the coast. Hoenn is breathtaking in its splendor.

Looking towards Mt Chimney. This is area around your Hometown.

The second completed region done in the Pokécraft project. Hoenn was a massive undertaking. From server changes to lost work, Hoenn was more than a handful for the entire staff.

We started on Hoenn in the beginning of January 2010, not too long after Kanto was completed. At the time Hoenn was a challenge just to get the starting mapping done due to the much larger size of it compared to Kanto. We initially had to split Hoenn up into 2 separate maps due to the default server-ware not liking a 1024x512 map. From there trying to translate the elevation (or lack of) into Minecraft was a challenge. There were quite a few hurdles to pass before we even had the map live.
We also took a different approach this time with how the building worked. In Kanto, the server was public and we had it basically setup so anyone could come in and start building.

This was not the case in Hoenn. After having to deal with grief a few times in Kanto and even in the inital opening of Hoenn, we made the Hoenn server private much to our regret. But it allowed the building staff to be able to concentrate on building and not babysitting the guests who liked to wander all across the map. Which thankfully worked out in the long run.

Sootopolis and the Sea Routes

Progress on Hoenn went along smoothly, and after about a month the second half of Hoenn went live. East Hoenn was a bit more of a challenge to do due to it being mostly water and it actually slowed the project down, but we battled on and continued working.

The great view from the top of Mt. Chimney.

We were now about 2 months into Hoenn and 3 months into the entire project when we got our first major break. I had been doing some reading on the Minecraft Forums (before they went south), and came across a free custom server-ware that had portal and multiple world support. The biggest advantage to us was that it allowed us to lock the maps and prevent anymore griefing. Not too long after that I began the challenging task of joining up both East and West Hoenn into the one large map that is it now.

The Peaceful city of Rustboro

It was then that Hoenn stalled. The water routes in the eastern half of Hoenn were more work than we had previously thought and we also discovered that the city of Sootopolis would plainly Not fit into the main map.

The adventurous town of Fortree City.

So sadly work on Hoenn came to almost a complete standstill. So, work continued slowly and sadly one by one, staff members dropped off the face of the blocky world.

The desert.

By this point almost 7 months had gone by since we had started Hoenn, and we were all quite tired of it. During all this time we had all wandered away to other projects, like the Gym project and the Sevii islands. Minecraft had also gone through quite a bit of change itself, we had went from indev, to infdev and all the way up to Alpha. Most of us at that time had started playing it quite a lot too. So eventually, we all got together and made a large push to get it finished up. Finally finished it is quite spectacular. We also made a large effort to get interiors done inside of the buildings, so you can wander around and into just about any building you see.

Like Kanto, there are all sorts of easter eggs hidden throughout the map. We also kept track of the staff that worked on Hoenn and have an area set aside for credits. Which is a nice addition.

So with 2 regions down, 1 under construction, and 2 to go. The project has no sign of letting up! Please stay tuned for more info and of course, don't forget to check out The Playhouse and to check these maps out for yourself!

Next time: A quick overview of other projects on the server, and a sneak peek of Sinnoh!
But the important thing is that I am DOING this post. I don't have to! No-one's making me! But I am because I care. So anyway, today we're doing the second set of Sevii islands, which open up post-league in Fire Red and Leaf Green. Of course, here there's no such thing as a proper league, so you get to these the same way you get to the others, by doorways on the ferryports. First up, Floe (Four) island.

Floe Island. It's not very big but it has a cave!

So here we have Floe Island, the home of Lorelei of the Elite 4, as well as Icefall Cave (which in retrospect should have a picture, but I'm too lazy for that) and a daycare centre where you can breed Pokémon. So quite a lot crammed onto this tiny island!

Next up is Chrono (Five) Island. I assue you, no relation to Chronosquare, who was not around for the construction of the Sevii Islands.

Chrono Island. Or rather, islands.

Five Island is a pretty small town, but the island itself is pretty much an archipelago. It features such wonderful islands as the Resort Area and Memorial Pillar. You better know how to surf though. The pattern seen in Pattern Bush is the same as the layout of the internal circuit board for the game. The more you know! Also of note is Altering Cave, which was never really used by Nintendo but was due to be changeable by a special event. This island is pretty big as Seviis go though. Next up is Quest, or Seven, Island.

Long island is long

Quest Island has it all! Well actually it doesn't. But it does have Trainer Tower, Kanto's answer to the Battle Tower; a canyon, Tanoby Ruins and Tanoby Key. There's also Navel Rock and Birth Island, both of which are on the server (accessible from the ferry port on Quest Island), but neither's hugely interesting, aside from playing home to Ho-oh, Lugia and Deoxys. I'm Inevitable, Cieran and Mudson have already mentioned me and now it's time for my introduction. I'm one of the older staff members and I'm the one responsible for such awesome things as that Giant [unfinished] Tentacruel Submarine, Fortree City and the Battle Pike.

What else... I believe myself to be a very good builder (though all the Pokecraft staff are as well) with a strong emphasis on natural looking environments, architecturally impressive buildings and efficient use of interior space. In addition to the things mentioned above, I'm the "server league's" Psychic Gym Leader. Though I've not gotton around to completing the interior (Sinnoh's got my attention at the moment) the exterior of my Gym is up there to behold in all its circular pentagonal glory.

Word of advise, do not do pentagon-shaped designs in Minecraft. Even if it looks awesome, the hassle's just not worth it.

I'm studying Computer Games Design at Staffordshire University, I'm in the process of building a doomsday weapon and I'm actually I'm a spy for Red Team. But don't tell anyone.Inevitablehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11683656256611489092noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3311836080852143418.post-28347007140755764922010-12-17T16:39:00.000-08:002010-12-17T17:03:49.151-08:00Sevii Islands 1, 2 and 3Sometime earlier this year, Hoenn effectively hit a dead-end when it came to building. No-one wanted to build the water routes, because it was hard and no-one would see it in the end. So we needed a distraction. What did we come up with? The Sevii Islands of course!

When you "complete" Kanto (and you'll know when you've completed it) you'll be given the option either to return home, continue to Hoenn, or explore the sevii islands. Option three will warp you to Knot Island, also known as One island.

One Island, with Mt Ember at back

Sadly we don't have any interiors for these, as no-one can find them. Anyway, you can see the town is there, and in the distance, Mt Ember, complete with Moltres at the peak. Returning to the ferry station and picking the door on the left (as you face it) will take you to Boon (Two) Island.

Two Island. It's not very big!

I think the caption says it all really. It's just not a very big island. After visiting this island, you can again take the left-hand ferry doorway to take you to Kin (Three) island.

NOW we're talking.

The largest of the first three islands, here we are on Kin Island. This is the one with the motorcycle gang in it who you have to fend off in the games. Also it has berry forest, and Bond Bridge. So it's pretty interesting really.

That concludes our first round-up of the Sevii Islands, available in world "sevii123" on The Playhouse. Check us out tomorrow for the next four!
Today we're going to take a trip to beautiful Kanto.

Pallet Town, and the whole of Route 1

As you can see, Kanto is quite a beautiful region, with some neat areas. Kanto was the first region that we started in the project, and is typically the region most people want to see.

A little over a year ago, Rils (then known as Hunter2458) and I were trying to figure out what kind of large scale project we wanted to do in Minecraft. We had already experimented with various Pokémon related stuff. Like a failed attempt at creating Johto and the Sinnoh Elite 4 building. We then saw a thread on the Minecraft forums that had someone mentioning that "somebody" should host a server and recreate the Pokémon regions.

The Safari Zone

I had already been hosting my own private server for a few months so all we had to do was create the base map and open it to the public. It didn't take long for the server to be flooded with people wanting to build and just wander around. Surprisingly a decent amount of the original staff is still around. Of course we've lost a few here and there.

The video above is an early look at Kanto, probably around a week or two into its construction.

As I was saying, it didn't take long for the server to become popular. Of course we had various greifing, which was pointless on their part due to the extraordinary amount of backups I kept. Around halfway through the main part of the map, Cieran, Mudson, and Inevitable joined. They ended up getting drafted into becoming mods since they were at the time my "Night Crew". Looks like I made a good call on it. After they joined, the project seemed to pick up more momentum and the overworld was finished in about 3 weeks. At the time we didn't have the fancy serverware and we were still using the default server application. So there wasn't any need for us to create interiors at the time. Those were created later and took a little longer.

From there, we started to formulate a plan on how to create Hoenn, our next major region, and what order to build the remaining regions. Creating Kanto was a pretty fun experience and none of the regions since have been as fun.

A good look at the center of Kanto.

The pictures here really don't do the map justice. Almost every building has an interior, there are all sorts of easter eggs hidden throughout the entire map, and of course there's the custom Elite 4 Arenas. The Pokémon regions really do need to be walked through to appreciate the splendor of it.

Lonely Cinnabar Island. Complete with Volcano!

Even though this version of Kanto is excellent. We plan to build it again when we finally get around to doing Johto. The HeartGold & SoulSilver version of Kanto is even more wonderful. It would be great to recreate it into Minecraft too.

Join us next time as we head south to the Sevii Islands!
Started on limited overworld work in Kanto and ended up doing tons of interiors, specifically the gyms. Went on the Hoenn where I did large stretches of the overworld, numerous interiors (including the blasted trick house) and huge amounts of landscaping. If you ever ask a pokecraft member about the water routes expect some 'nam style flashbacks. As well as that I'm limited in my side projects due to time constraints, but I'm the gym leagues grass leader and tend to build odd things in the freebuild like big 3D pokemon. I intend to do a few more projects but only the future will tell if I manage to.

Personally, I study law at Lincoln, huge Nintendo fan which you will probably see in my minecraft and I can never pass up an opportunity to nag about something ^^

So yeah, cya around.
Mudsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08757998848203612973noreply@blogger.com1
